Cease Fire

I fear that you're all sick of house photos already! However Lorie and Jennie keep reminding me that I promised bedroom pics so I'm here to deliver. I promise, real life blogging will resume soon and I'll only throw in house stuff every once in awhile. Jack had a late nap today so I didn't get pictures of his room, I'll have to do that tomorrow.
Sissy Lou has a twin sized bed in this house, her old, larger bed is being used in the guest bedroom. I pulled the pillow colors from the painting across from her bed and I have plans for some framed art either over her bed or the blank wall to the right of it.

All three kids have pretty fantastic closets. We store a lot of the toys in these areas. The right side has two rows of shelves.

Sitting on her bed you can look into her bathroom.

It has access to the sink and potty here.

And you can peak into Kendall's side of the bathroom too.

I'm standing in Kendall's room looking into her bath here.

More of Kendall's room and closet.

Her desk by the window. She loves this space and spends a lot of time here!

Standing in the hallway looking into the playroom.

The majority of the toys are kept on the other side of the couch.

To the left of the closet is the catwalk to Jack's room.

My office is just outside of Kendall's room.

This is my favorite picture, Kendall and the gang of kids walking home from the bus stop. Soon after this all the real fun begins as garage doors are opened and bikes and scooters spill out.

Family Missing--Buried in Boxes

That's us. We're buried. We've made a LOT of progress but we have a LOT left to do too.

All three kids' rooms are complete. Completely complete. That was my lone goal this weekend. I managed that and the kitchen before I was attacked by Kendall's stomach bug and rendered completely useless. Now that the kids are home from their visit with Aunt Sara productivity is really low but we're happy to be here and finally all healthy so we'll slowly trudge our way through this mess.

Here are a few pictures of our success and our soon to be success ;)

Come on in. Our furniture fits here nicely. My sister Sara said it looks even better in this house. I am loving seeing how it looks here and I'm also loving switching things around. My office in Kate's room. The shelf from the girls' Kendall's nightstand.

Finally the kitchen counters are all cleared.

We have received so many sweet cards, Valentines and New Home cards. I LOVE this little graphic one from my mom. It says, "You are the best thing since sliced (bread)." I haven't let anyone know that we've received mail. I haven't said thank you. I haven't had a chance to even talk to my mom. Hi Mom, I know you'll read this ;)

As of today my bathroom vanity is cleared off.

Trying out an enormous pineapple in the guest bathroom (looks especially enormous due to angle of the photo). Nothing says welcome like a large pineapple in the bathroom, right?! Don't you want to visit just to see this pineapple?

Oh playroom. I'm so stumped. I'm at a standstill here. Brian has to attach the bookshelves to the wall but we can't do that until the cable is through or the tv attached or something. Also, the old playroom shelves are in my office so we need a new little shelf for toys. Nothing happening in here. At all.

It's a mess.

I just started working in my office. This picture shows only a fraction of the space in here, this room in HUGE. I also have a large closet and bigger bookshelf then I previously had. Regardless, I'm having some trouble getting things just right. Eventually we want to get a more rustic kitchen table and that table will be moved up here as a work space. I'm really excited, I love to spread out when I work and that will be perfect!

No pictures of the kids room because they're all asleep! Maybe tomorrow?

Rock Star

I talked to my husband tonight when he left work. Minutes later my inbox got a few more pictures of the house. He never even mentioned that he was going there. So sweet.

Kitchen progress

The pantry again. Really, this does not look at all different. But I do like looking at it :)

The covered portion of the back patio

Yes, I included a picture of my toilet seat. This is actually one of the things we changed. So my kids are young enough (and small bummed enough) that they require those nasty kid seats that sit on top. I opted to have these installed, you can tell that you lower the regular seat and there is a smaller one for those in the house that are small bummed :) These are going in the kids' bathrooms and the downstairs half bath.

These two are my office

Another one of the changes I made was this faucet. Actually, I wanted a bridge faucet but I would have had to buy it myself and take have him install it. I opted to go with this one (that I love too) just have it finished before we got there).
This is a farmhouse sink but the houses around here all have black sinks. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the black but I didn't have it changed since that seemed to be the trend in the area. I had to take into account resale with all the choices I made. I don't dislike it at all.

I was thinking today how even though I'm crazy excited about getting there, I think walking out of this house I may cry. Then I realized that walking into that house I will probably cry too :)
