Here are two of the homemade gifts our girls will be getting this year. I wrap up crayon pouch and felt food. Let me know if you want links to tutorials.
Some of you may know that I have a tad bit of an obsession with my scrapbooking hero Ali Edwards. Obsession is too strong of a word but I do love her work (she used to be a graphic designer which has always been a field that I'm very interested in). One of the classes that she used to teach is "A Week in the Life" and she is doing it on her blog right now. She isn't teaching it but she is going through the process herself and kind of coaching us along with her. I really wanted to start on Monday with the rest of the world but since I didn't have a camera I'm starting today. How cool would it be to have a book documenting a week of your mother's (or father's) life when she was raising you!? I still haven't decided how I will put this all together (I may do it digitally and have it printed or I may scrapbook it) but I'm starting the collection phase, taking photos and gathering information of a normal day for us. You can make this as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. It's a great gift for your children (no matter what stage of life you are in) and it really is an interesting challenge. You can leave a comment on Ali's blog if you have questions, I would be happy to help anyone too!
I actually love this blurry one. I was quickly washing the dishes after breakfast.
I love that the one in the car has the time, my house and me in it!
love the food!!! Too too cute!!
